TREKCORE > GAMING > STAR TREK TACTICAL ASSAULT > Story Synopsis The first campaign is the Federation which starts between Star Trek The Motion Picture and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. You’re playing as Mathew Reynolds and taking over your first command along the Klingon Neutral Zone, putting you in the line of Klingon hostilities. The Klingon Campaign picks up about 30 years after the Federation one ends, right around the Khitomer Massacre, putting you at war with the Romulans. There, you’ll be taking the Captain’s chair as Commander Kadir, a Klingon of a noble house, who is eager to work his way up the Klingon ranks and prove his warrior status. There’s a bit of an uneasy truce with the Federation at this stage so you’ll not only be protecting your borders against the Romulans, but also you’ll be trying to figure out how to interact peacefully with the Federation. Klingons haven’t had a lot of practice at that. As you progress in each campaign, your crew can gain promotions which will increase their abilities. Below are outlines of all the missions:
FEDERATION MISSION 1 Captain's Log, Stardate 7428.6. Admiral Jacobs, Starfleet Commander in this sector, has ordered me to my first command -- the frigate USS Essex, which has just been commissioned. This shakeown cruise will allow me to familiarize myself with the crew and this new vessel. In many ways, this will be the first for all of us.
FEDERATION MISSION 2 Captain's Log, Stardate 7436.9. The Essex has been ordered to patrol duty along the Klingon Neutral Zone for the next thirty days. We are scheduled to depart immediately from spacedock, leaving behind our friends and family for the last year. While this assignment is indeed important, I can't help but wish our first undertaking would be a bit more exciting.
FEDERATION MISSION 3 Captain's Log, Stardate 7442.8. Our orders are to patrol the third sector of the Klingon/Federation Neutral Zone, which has lately been a hotbed of smuggling activity by freighter captains. Unfortunately that makes our Klingons friends a bit antsy -- they don't appreciate intruders.
FEDERATION MISSION 4 Captain's Log, Stardate 7449.3. Negotiations with the Klingon High Command have started to bear fruit under the direction of Vulcan Ambassador Sorlin. His ship, the Taopok, is returning from Kronos to discuss his progress with the Admiralty. We are to escort his ship from the Klingon side of the Zone. The Admiral indicated in his order that he didn't expect any problems, but it's best to be on alert.
FEDERATION MISSION 5 Captain's Log, Stardate 7457.2. The political situation is tense. With Ambassador Sorlin dead, our negotiations with the Klingons are in disarray. However, Outpost 11 has picked up what they believe is the assassin's ship on their long range sensors. Course information has been relayed to us via subspace and I have been ordered to pursue. The Admiral made it very clear that I am authorized to use any means to destroy this Romulan ship. FEDERATION MISSION 6 Captain's Log, Stardate 7463.1. We have been routed to Regular 1 to deliver supplies to a colony ship, the Elysian Fields. As soon as our rendezvous has been completed we are to report back to Outpost 11. The Admiral has authorized a short shore leave for our crew, and we intend to enjoy it. Depending on how negotiations go, it may be the last one for a while. FEDERATION MISSION 7 Captain's Log, Stardate 7475.4. The Klingons have launched surprise attacks all along the Federation/Klingon border. Many of our outposts suffered heavy damage and need help defending themselvs against further incursions. We have been assigned to Outpost P-3 defense, and will depart immediately. FEDERATION MISSION 8 Captain's Log, Stardate 7487.5. In my briefing, the Admiral bypassed all the pleastantries due to time pressures in this operation. The USS Repulse was given an assignment to attack a crucial Klingon target in the Amar System and was caught behind enemy lines. Detailes are still sketchy, but their final transmission indicated they suffered damagae to their warp nacelles. My orders are to go in and bring her back safely. FEDERATION MISSION 9 Captain's Log, Stardate 7498.7. The Klingons have sent raid after raid to our outposts and bases near the Nuetral Zone. We've been able to trace these attacks back to an area near Outpost 5 where they've been hiding. Our orders are to neutralize this threat before they cause any more serious damage to our border stations. This assignment is clear cut -- seek out the raiders and destroy them. The Admiral has assigned the USS Achilles to assist us in this task. FEDERATION MISSION 10 Captain's Log, Stardate 7507.2. The recent discovery of a new Klingon Starbase has interested the Admiralty, as it appears to be a stagin area for Klingon raids. our job is to destroy it with the assistance of a new prototype cloaking device orgianlly taken from the Romulans. We're not sure what to expect in its performance, but our reliance on it will be heavy, as the base is well defended. FEDERATION MISSION 11 Captain's Log, Stardate 7519.6. We have received urgent orders from Starfleet Command. The USS Enterprise is under attack by elements of a Klingon battle fleet near Sherman's Planet. The fleet has been ordered to that sector, with Admiral Jacobs following aboard his flagship, the Missouri. We leave orbit at 1400 hours. FEDERATION MISSION 12 Captain's Log, Stardate 7531.8. Starfleet Command informs us the ceasefire is in effect, but we can't afford to let down our guard. Under the ceasefire, we can move into their former combat zone and rescue ships in distress. Any survivors aboard those ships are probably on limited life support, so time is of the essence. I have been ordered ot take the Jefferson to search the combat zone. Any ships that cannot be salvaged will be scuttled. FEDERATION MISSION 13 Captain's Log, Stardate 7539.1. With the peace negotiations still in progress, the Jefferson has been ordered to escort Klingon Ambassador Karf from a point in the Neutral Zone to Starbase 2. From there, a permanent meeting place will be determined. My old mentor and friend, John Daine, will accompany us in the Martel. FEDERATION MISSION 14 Captain's Log, Stardate 7552.9. Admiral Jacobs has given me disturbing news. John Daine and his crew have betrayed us all. He feels the peace talks are a threat to the Federation's safety and has been in contact with the Romulans for the last three months, relaying all of our moves to them in the hope of stopping the ngeotiations. he canote be allowed to escape into Romulan space. The Klingons will be after him, but my assignment is to bring him back. FEDERATION MISSION 15 Captain's Log, Stardate 7564.2. The planet Catellus has been chosen as the location for the final peace talks. Unfortunately, John Daine gave that information to the Romulans, and our own intel reveals they are planning an attack. Instead of changing the location and risking further compromise we are going to ste a trap for them - a trip in which my ship will be used as bait. KLINGON MISSION 1 Karfon Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. My glorious achievements at the Devense Forces Elite Command School pale in comparison to this day. My trial is upon me, however, tests and ... pretend combat cannot test a true warrior's mettle. I will conqure the rite of trial, and serve the Empire as commander of a proud Klingon vessel. Failure this day will mean an honorable death, but I am prepared for glory or Sto-Vo-Kor. KLINGON MISSION 2 Karfon Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. Though I have become lord of my own Klingon vessel, I still must win glory in battle to move up the ranks among my brothers. The General has assigned the Karfon to patrol duty, not a glorious assignment, but I will find new challenges to conquer in time. Until then, let the enemies of my Chancellor and my house fear me. KLINGON MISSION 3 Karfon Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. The Romulans maintain a Communications Aray they use to transmit early warning signals to their fleet. My orders from the General are to destroy it, making them vulnerable to sudden attack. My brother Korok's wing of Birds-of-Prey will await my signal to descend up on the ravenous birds of Romullus and devour them whole. KLINGON MISSION 4 Kalen Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. The greatest battles at times are set into motion by one small spark. A Romulan Starbase hosts several docked ships under repair. I've been given orders to find it and turn the docked ships to scrap! KLINGON MISSION 5 Kalen Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. Our Federation allies have provided us with an honored gift. The Dominus is a captured Romulan Destroyer which can be manned by a small crew. Federation intelligence has placed the main Romulan fleet at the planet Proxima. I have been given the great duty to penetrate the enemy's position and gather information on their strength and future deployment. KLINGON MISSION 6 Kalen Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. Our scouts have revealed information that the Romulan Empire plans to remove their Emperor from Proxima to Romulus for safety. The General asked me to personally deliver our revenge for Khitomer with the assistance of Commander Kell. KLINGON MISSION 7 Kalen Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. Klingon dilithium mining colonies on the far edge of our territory require protection, having been raided by unidentified vessels. The Hekra has been assigned to patrol duty in that area. If these ships dare show themselves while the Hekra is near, they will be crushed into memory. KLINGON MISSION 8 Hekra Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. Our intelligence has discovered reliable information on a convoy - six freighters due to depart Decimus for the Romulan Starbase at Corona. The Convoy's course has been projected, and I will be joined on this mission by my blood. Commander Korok is in the Kordos. As soon as we have dispatched this convoy, we are to report to the main battle fleet under General Vor'ath. KLINGON MISSION 9 Hekra Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. High Command informs me we now have knowledge of the phantoms who attacked our border in dishonor. They are known as Gorn, cold blooded reptiles. Their nature apparently is not to attack an enemy unless they are threatened - or they are being enriched. Mercenaries for hire, they have no honor. Cold or not, their blood will taste as sweet up on my d'k tagh. KLINGON MISSION 10 Hekra Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. The lust for battle in my heart must be controlled, as I have been ordered to capture one of these honorless lizards. They have struck again, and the High command wishes to know those behind this assassin's blade. My bloodlust must be held back, as is the nature of any warrior to control his urges and test even the most loyal Klingon's honor. KLINGON MISSION 11 Hekra Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. The General ordered me to apear here as his most loyal servant to aid him in this time of dissent. This baktag before me in the K'tinga has no honor for the Chancellor, and has made himself an anemy of the Empire. As such, I shall dspatch him will all due haste. KLINGON MISSION 12 Va'Tal Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. I have been given a special mission by the General. On that he assures me will bring my house great honor and fortune within the Emprie. I suspect greatness may be at hand, and a battle somewhere in the offing. KLINGON MISSION 13 Va'Tal Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. The treacherous Duras clan attacks our vessels in the Ganalda Sector. The Va'Tal has been dispatched to rendezvous with Commander Korok there, where we will use any means to sweep it clear of these rebel pahtk. KLINGON MISSION 14 Va'Tal Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. I have received a subspace coded transmission from the General, ordering me to take the Va'Tal to a remote location. For what purpose, I cannot say. But secrecy for a Klingon usually means there is a battle in need of being won. I am prepared to test my skills against the enemy, prepared to draw blood. KLINGON MISSION 15 Va'Tal Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. I have been summoned by the General for a task he may only entrust to someone he knows to be loyal. Meanwhile, the Chancellor is conducting this ... negotiation with the house of Druas. I would just as soon remove them from the grace of the stars, but there is more to his unrest than simply the will of the Duras. KLINGON MISSION 16 Va'Tal Tactical Log, Honorable Lord Kadir Commanding. Advance scouts have reported a large Romulan fleet moving to our border at speed. It seems they intend another strike, and place their tactical superiority on a pedestal that we must knock down. My brother and I have been entrusted to aid the General as his honor guard. We shall finally complete our blood oath to avenge Khitomer this day! Qapla'!
