Irvine, California -- Stardate 06.19.97: Interplay Productions announces Star Trek ^TM: Secret of Vulcan Fury, the third in a series of original Interplay Star Trek adventure games. Poised to break the standard in adventure gaming, Star Trek: Secret of Vulcan Fury combines cutting edge motion capture animation with all new Star Trek episodes authored by one of the original Star Trek television series writers, D.C. Fontana. Developed by Tribal Dreams, a division of Interplay Productions, Star Trek: Secret of Vulcan Fury features the voices of the original cast, challenging story-based puzzles and the opportunity for the gamer to play the roles of six of Star Trek’s all-time favorite characters.

"By combining the talents of the original cast with a fascinating storyline by D.C. Fontana, dazzling 3-D rendered visuals and proprietary state-of-the-art motion capture, we’ve created the ultimate Trekker adventure gaming experience," stated Ken Allen, the game’s producer. "The player will be fully immersed in situations true to the personality and style of the original television series."

Licensed through Viacom Consumer Products, STAR TREK: Secret of Vulcan Fury is set in the 23^rd century and places the player in six all new episodes revolving around the ancient secret in the history of the Vulcan and Romulan races. The new episodes allow the player assume the roles of Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Doctor McCoy, Lieutenant Sulu, Ensign Chekov and Scotty. Each episode also draws upon the vast heritage of the Vulcans and weaves a rich story, full of intrigue, sabotage and murder, in which the fate of Vulcan and the Federation hang in balance.

STAR TREK: Secret of Vulcan Fury captures the look, feel and personality of the original Star Trek television series cast through use of all-new proprietary motion captured animation which depicts each character’s expressive mannerisms and facial movements, bringing the game to life. Each episode is further enhanced by the voice acting performances of the original television cast, motion picture style cinematography, and stunning 3-D rendered graphics. A streamlined, intuitive interface and story-relevant puzzles eliminate the tedium found in many adventure games, allowing the player to become fully immersed in this new and exciting Star Trek experience.

STAR TREK: Secret of Vulcan Fury will be available on CD-ROM in November 1997 from Interplay for Windows^® 95 based PCs.
