2. What are Star Trek Hidden Evil’s system requirements?
These are the system requirements listed on the boxes:

Minimum System Requirements:

  • 200 MHz Pentium® processor or equivalent
  • 32 MB RAM
  • English language Windows® 95/98 operating system
  • A 100% Windows 95/98-compatible computer system (including compatible 32-bit drivers for CD-ROM drive, video card and sound card)
  • 225 MB of uncompressed hard disk space for game files, plus 80 MB for the Windows swap file
  • 100% DirectX 7 or higher compatible sound card
  • 100% DirectX compatible video card with 4 MB of video RAM or better
  • Quad-speed CD-ROM drive (600 K/sec. sustained transfer rate)

3-D ACCELERATOR CARD RECOMMENDED
A 100% DirectX 7 or higher compliant 3-D video card and driver with Z-buffering capability is recommended. Star Trek: Hidden Evil uses Microsoft's Direct 3D to support 3-D hardware acceleration. It has been tested on many but not all of the major cards incorporating the chipsets listed below:

No, this game did not need any patches.
   
7. Will this game work on Windows 2000/XP?
This game should work fine in 2000/XP as long as you have a supported video card, sound card, and drivers. Also make sure that you have all of the latest updates for Windows 2000/XP from Microsoft. Go to the Windows Updater and make sure that you have all of the updates installed.

Although this product is designed for use with Microsoft Windows 98 and above, Activision cannot guarantee its compatibility with Windows 2000/XP. This product will install on systems using Windows 2000/XP, but it has not been thoroughly tested and certified with the new Microsoft Operating Systems.

   
8. What version of DirectX does Hidden Evil require?
This product uses Microsoft's DirectX 7 technology, which requires your system to have the latest Windows 95/98 drivers that fully support DirectX 7.
   
9. I want to play the game with a joystick or gamepad instead of the keyboard. Can I do this?
No. The controls for the game are listed on page 11 of the game manual.
   

GAME QUESTIONS ANSWERS

1. How many missions are in the game?
The game spans through 10 missions, including mission training in the holodeck.
2. How do I save a game?
To save a game:
  • While in the game, press the Esc key.
  • Go to the main menu.
  • Choose to save the game, and then you can save it to one of the game slots. You can save during any point in the game.
3. The Vulcan Nerve Pinch is not working.
Press the number 4 key to choose the pinch, not on the NUM pad but on the top of the keyboard, then use the Space Bar when behind an enemy and the Vulcan Nerve Pinch should be executed.
4. When I use the Vulcan Nerve Pinch it seems to kill enemies. They never get up.
Enemies are considered as unconscious for the duration of the mission, that is why they never get up.
5. How do I give the Talisman in my inventory to Commander Data?
To give the Talisman to Data do the following:
  • To view your inventory, press the Tab key of the \ key
  • Scroll through your inventory until you find the Talisman using your up/down arrows
  • The Talisman will be highlighted by a pair of brackets once selected.
  • Press the Enter key.
6. I am standing by a force field with the Holosuit Cloak on. I can't see myself.
Some people find Sovok difficult to see when he is cloaked and standing next to a force field. He is visible, and there is not much more to say other than look more closely.
